Morissa a friend, that can be found over at http://morissa-adayinthelife.blogspot.com made me aware of an upcoming auction for Epidermylosis Bullosa (EB) Awareness found here http://jonahsebauction.blogspot.com/. Immediately I agreed to put something together and since I've really been eyeballing this Faux Chenille Blanket tutorial found here http://www.aestheticnest.com/2010/08/sewing-heirloom-cut-chenille-baby.html for a while and decided this was a great time to try it out. Of course, right?! Why not do something you've never done when donating for an auction? Didn't really make sense, but with all of the great directions in the tutorial how can one go wrong?
Off I went in search of fabric for the project. I chose Butterflies for the backing fabric, as EB children are said to have skin as delicate as butterfly wings, and then added the faux chenille fabrics green, orange, hot pink and white for the front.
There were many firsts for me within this project and even with this, it turned out perfectly. I do hope that it goes will in the auction. Here are a few photos of the finished project. If you are interested, check out the auction info above and maybe you can participate online!
