Placemats and Napkins

I have wanted to do something for the special people in my life so I'm slowly making my way through a list in no particular order. Currently I've been working on some placemats and napkins for my one of my best friends. It's a surprise so don't tell her! :) I finished up a 4 placemat set and decided to use the extra left over fabric to make some napkins of various sizes. Here are a few pics:

Memo Board

The memo board is finally complete and hanging on my craft room wall. Finally! Decided to use fabric buttons which was a little challenging, but after making almost 35 of them and sewing them to the intersections it has found a nice place on my wall!

I used the Moda Spirit Charm pack to make the memo board. I absolutely love how it turned out! If you want to make one, below is the tutorial information.

I used this tutorial found here Eva Patchwork Memo Board by Melissa Mortenson @ www.polkadotchair.blogspot.com

Pillows, Memo boards, Staining etc.

I've been working on several projects over the last 3-4 weeks my first I started was a circle quilt that I'm not sure if I'll ever finish.. Maybe it's the fabrics I used but I'm not sure.. but for some reason, I'm just not feeling it, so it's been set aside. See below:

Then I started working on a new project memo board. I found a few tutorials online and am have gotten to the "adding buttons" portion but haven't found the buttons I want to use yet.

I've also made several pillows for my bed and sitting room of my bedroom: Some are full pillows and some are slip cover pillowcases and also a table top for my new magazine nightstand:

Additionally, I have been staining the frame for the memo board a darker color and also staining a table that will be used in the sitting room of my bedroom once it's all ready.

Finally, I've started working on a project for a best friend of mine: Placemats for her table. Here's the first top I've put together.

I think I might have wanted a little instant gratification with the big/little projects that are all in progress right now at the same time. But at least I'm keeping busy and happy!

In the Spot Light

A spotlight of all the things crafty I've done today. :)

All of the little fabric pieces I cut using my new Accuquilt Go Cutter that my wonderful husband picked up for me for Christmas. I LOVE It! Now I'll have to make something with all of those girly squares.

Pom Pom - made with Yarn. Easy peasy- 2 minutes tops.

2 Baby Boy Burp Cloths

Wooden Magazine holder converted to "quilt style" fabric covered. I've had this on my list of things to do for a long time and decided to pull it out to do it while I was messing around in the craft room. Definitely time consuming, but I love the outcome. :)

Faux Chenille blanket for EB Auction

Morissa a friend, that can be found over at http://morissa-adayinthelife.blogspot.com made me aware of an upcoming auction for Epidermylosis Bullosa (EB) Awareness found here http://jonahsebauction.blogspot.com/. Immediately I agreed to put something together and since I've really been eyeballing this Faux Chenille Blanket tutorial found here http://www.aestheticnest.com/2010/08/sewing-heirloom-cut-chenille-baby.html for a while and decided this was a great time to try it out. Of course, right?! Why not do something you've never done when donating for an auction? Didn't really make sense, but with all of the great directions in the tutorial how can one go wrong?

Off I went in search of fabric for the project. I chose Butterflies for the backing fabric, as EB children are said to have skin as delicate as butterfly wings, and then added the faux chenille fabrics green, orange, hot pink and white for the front.

There were many firsts for me within this project and even with this, it turned out perfectly. I do hope that it goes will in the auction. Here are a few photos of the finished project. If you are interested, check out the auction info above and maybe you can participate online!
